Crime Scene Middletown: Burglary Suspect Apprehended Fleeing Residence on Marion Drive

On October 21, 2011 at approximately 12:00 pm Corporal Bernard Chenoweth and Corporal George Freibott, responded to a residence on Marion Drive in reference to a burglary in progress. Upon arrival at the residence Corporal Chenoweth observed a subject, identified as Scott Gibson, age 27, from Bartram Road in Englishtown, NJ, running from the residence carrying a bag of stolen items. Corporal Chenoweth chased the subject on foot and was able to take him into custody after a brief struggle.

Corporal Chenoweth and Corporal Freibott continued their investigation and determined that Gibson was working with a second subject. The officers identified the second subject as Robert Molchan, age 21, from Deer Way in Manalapan, NJ, and provided his name to officers in the area. Patrolman Richard Belmonte was working a traffic detail on Middletown Lincroft Road and observed a subject fitting Molchan’s description walking in the area. Officer Belmonte stopped the subject and confirmed it was Molchan at which point he was placed under arrest.
Detective William Strohkirch and Detective Adam Finck conducted a follow up investigation and determined that the pair was also responsible for committing a burglary on Courtney Way earlier in the day. Gibson was charged with Burglary, Conspiracy, Theft, Resisting Arrest, and Criminal Mischief. He was held on $30,000.00 bail with no 10% option. Molchan was charged with Burglary, Theft and Conspiracy. He was held on $20,000.00 bail with no 10% option.

Police believe the two subjects are responsible for other burglaries in the area and are continuing their investigation.
On October 22, 2011 at approximately 3:20 pm Patrolman Anthony Dellatacoma responded to the Foodtown store in reference to a report of a shoplifting. Upon arrival he was advised by the store manager that he had observed a subject, identified as Michael Rusignuolo, age 28, from Johnson Avenue in Union Beach, NJ, enter the Liquor section and place two bottles of Hennessy Liquor in his sweatshirt and leave the store without paying at which point he was detained by the manager.
Officer Dellatacoma conducted an investigation which resulted in the arrest of Rusignuolo for Shoplifting. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.
On October 22, 2011 at approximately 1:50 pm Patrolman Michael Reuter was on patrol in the area of Cherry Tree Farm Road and Highway 35 when he stopped a vehicle because there was an outstanding warrant issued for the registered owner’s arrest. Officer Reuter stopped the vehicle and approached the driver, identified as Michael Thacke, age 23, from Blossom Circle West in Middletown, NJ, and asked for his driver’s credentials at which point Thacke began to yell and scream profanities at the officer.
Officer Reuter continued his investigation and determined that there were four outstanding Contempt of Court warrants issued by the Hazlet Municipal Court. Officer Reuter placed Thacke under arrest and transported him to police headquarters for processing. Once at headquarters Thacke became extremely uncooperative and refused to answer questions necessary to complete processing. He was charged with the additional charge of Obstructing an Investigation and was held on $2,500.00 bail.
On October 21, 2011 at approximately 2:40 pm Patrolman Raymond Sofield was on patrol in the area of Tindall Park when he was flagged down by two subjects who advised the officer that they observed two subjects who were possibly smoking Marijuana in the park.
Officer Sofield located the two subjects and conducted an investigation which resulted in the recovery of a Marijuana pipe and the arrest of a 16 year old male juvenile from Middletown, NJ, for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Obstructing an Investigation. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.
On October 21, 2011 at approximately 7:40 pm Patrolman Keith Hirschbein was on patrol in the area of Port Monmouth Road when he stopped a vehicle for Speeding and Tailgating. Officer Hirschbein approached the driver, identified as Anthony Colacino, age 18, from Crystal Court in Middletown, NJ, at which point he observed a Marijuana cigarette in plain view on the floor of the vehicle.
Officer Hirschbein conducted an investigation which resulted in the recovery of a bag of Marijuana and drug paraphernalia and the arrest of Colacino for Possession of under 50 Grams of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.
The Middletown Police Department reports the arrests of the following subjects for various offenses;
Kevin Krilla, age 29, from Kings Highway East in Middletown, NJ, arrested on October 22, 2011 by Patrolman John Mele for Simple Assault. He was released on his own recognizance pending a court appearance.
Luis Velez, age 53, from Park Avenue in Belford, NJ, arrested on October 21, 2011 by Patrolman Donald Coates on an outstanding warrant issued by the Monmouth County Superior Court. He was released after posting $2,248.86 in bail.
Georges Fiori, age 40, from Bonnie Drive in Middletown, NJ, arrested on October 22, 2011 by Patrolman John Mele on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Holmdel Municipal Court. He was released after posting $164.00 bail.
Steven Mago, age 21, from Church Street in Belford, NJ, arrested on October 21, 2011 by Patrolman Brian McGrogan on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Atlantic Highlands Municipal Court. He was held on $250.00 bail.
John Turner, age 48, from Worth Street in South Tomas River, NJ, arrested on October 23, 2011 by Patrolman Nicholas Fenezia on a Non-Support warrant issued by the Ocean County Superior Court. He was held on $934.00 bail.
William Graham, age 24, from Charles Street in Keansburg, NJ, arrested on October 22, 2011 by Patrolman Nicholas Fenezia on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Woodbridge Municipal Court. He was released after posting $299.00 bail.
Kenneth Dellapietro Jr, age 23, from Carr Avenue in Keansburg, NJ, arrested on October 18, 2011 by Patrolman Anthony Gigante and Patrolman Felipe Benedit of the Quality of Life Unit on warrants signed by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force Bayshore Unit for Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance as a result of an investigation conducted by the task force. He was released pending a court date.

Crime Scene Middletown: Storm Stories of Burglary and Shoplifting

On August 28, 2011 at approximately 1:55 pm Patrolman Carl Roth and Patrolman Anthony Gigante responded to area of Orchard Avenue in Belford in reference to a report of a neighborhood dispute. The officers were conducting their investigation when one of the involved subjects, identified as Christopher Melchionna, age 28, from Orchard Avenue in Belford, NJ, began to yell and scream obscenities.


The officers advised Melchionna numerous times to calm down but he refused at which point he was arrested for Disorderly Conduct. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.

On August 27, 2011 at approximately 10:05 pm Patrolman James Beirne responded to the Bevacqua’s store located on Port Monmouth Road in reference to a Burglary in progress. Upon arrival the officer was flagged down by a witness who advised the officer that he had observed three male subjects break into the store and then flee on foot. The witness advised the officer that the subjects had removed a piece of plywood that had been used to repair a broken window and then entered the store.

Officer Beirne radioed the description of the suspects provided by the witness to other officers in the area. Patrolman Albert Scott and Patrolman Ryan Riffert located the subjects on a nearby street. Officer Beirne continued his investigation which resulted in the arrests of George Echevarria, age 19, from Monmouth Parkway in Middletown, NJ, for Burglary and Possession of Burglary Tools; James Georgianna, age 19, from Hudson Avenue in Middletown, NJ, for Burglary and a 15 year old male juvenile from Port Monmouth, NJ, being charged with Burglary.

The juvenile was released to his father pending a court date and Echevarri and Georgianna were held pending bail being set.

On August 27, 2011 at approximately 5:05 pm Corporal William Kennelly responded to the Shop Rite Store in reference to a shoplifting. Upon arrival store security advised the officer that they had observed a male, identified as Ryan Durosky, age 25, from East Highland Avenue in Atlantic Highlands, NJ and female subject, identified as Katrina Palys, age 25, also from East Highland Avenue in Atlantic Highlands, NJ, attempt to leave the store without paying for approximately $145.00 worth of merchandise.

Corporal Kennelly placed both subjects under arrest for Shoplifting. They were transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released pending a court date.

On August 27, 2011 at approximately 6:00 pm Corporal James Keenan responded to the area of Wilson Avenue and Highway 36 in reference to a man down on the side of the road. Upon arrival the officer located the subject, identified as Charles Henshaw, age 45, from Front Street in Union Beach, NJ, who was extremely intoxicated and was attempting to stand up.

Officer Keenan assisted Henshaw and attempted to locate a family member to pick him up.
However, Henshaw became combative and unruly at which point he was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.

On August 26, 2011 at approximately 4:20 pm Corporal James Keenan responded to the Foodtown Store in reference to a report of a shoplifting. Upon arrival the store manager advised the officer that he had observed a male subject, identified as Anthony Kane, age 44, from Randall Avenue in Hazlet, NJ, attempt to leave the store with deli meats and beer without paying for the merchandise. He was detained by store employees until police arrival.

Officer Keenan placed Kane under arrest for Shoplifting. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.

On August 25, 2011 Patrolman Raymond Sofield and Patrolman Christopher Dee of the Quality of Life Unit arrested John Lachawiec, age 23, from Edgemore Road in Belford, NJ for Theft as a result of an investigation into the theft of a laptop computer and jewelry from his parent’s house.

The officers had received information developed by Patrolman Keith Hirschbein that Lachawiec had sold the stolen items to a pawn shop in Keansburg, NJ. The officers located the property at the pawn shop and arrested Lachawiec. He was processed and was held on $5,000.00 bail.

The Middletown Police Department reports the arrests of the following subjects for various offenses:

Damian Newell, age 19, from Nautilus Drive in Leonardo, NJ, arrested on August 27, 2011 by Patrolman Brain Dilworth for Simple Assault. He was held pending bail.

Crime Scene Middletown: Update For August 26,2011

On August 24, 2011 at approximately 10:05 pm Patrolman Richard Belmonte was on patrol in the area of Leonardville Road when he observed a subject stumbling and falling to the ground. The officer stopped to check on the subject, identified as a 15 year old, male juvenile from Belford, at which point he detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath.

Officer Belmonte continued his investigation and was trying to provide assistance when the juvenile began to yell obscenities at the officer. The juvenile was then placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct. Officer Belmonte conducted a search incident to the arrest and located baggies containing Marijuana inside a backpack he was carrying.

The juvenile was transported to police headquarters where he was charged with the additional offenses of Possession of under 50 Grams of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was processed and released to his father pending a court date.

The Middletown Police Department reports the arrests of the following subjects on various offenses:

Michael Story, age 19, from Manor Parkway in Lincroft, NJ, arrested on August 24, 2011 by Patrolman Richard Belmonte on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Little Egg Harbor Municipal Court. He was released after posting $500.00 bail.

Ashley Bindewald, age 24, from Norman Lane in Willingboro, NJ, arrested on August 25, 2011 by Patrolman Nicholas Fenezia for Possession of Heroin and on two Contempt of Court warrants issued by the Eastampton and Burlington Township Municipal Courts. She was held on $1,718.00 bail.

Stephen Garey, age 41, from Galt Ocean Drive in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, arrested on August 25, 2011 by Patrolman Brian Dilworth for Simple Assault. He was released pending a court date.

Andre lake, age 31, from Atlantic Street in Keyport, NJ, arrested on August 25, 2011 by Lt. John Kaiser on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Tinton Falls Municipal Court. He was released after posting $296.00 bail.

Rashon Martin, age 22, from Brainard Avenue in Port Monmouth, NJ, arrested on August 26, 2011 by Patrolman Nicholas Fenezia on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. He was held on $256.00 bail.

Vaughn Cosby, age 25, from Oakland Avenue in Atlantic Highlands, NJ, arrested on August 25, 2011 by Patrolman Michael Reuter on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Holmdel Municipal Court. He was held on $164.00 bail.

Crime Scene Middletown: Man Arrested On Multiple Warrants, Roller Blader Attacked and Other Recent Activity August 2nd – July 31

On August 2, 2011 at approximately 2:20 am Patrolman Anthony Gigante and Patrolman Brian Dilworth responded to the area of New Monmouth Road in reference to a report of three subjects who had just damaged property at a residence. The officers located three subjects fitting the description provided by the victim a short distance from the residence.

The officers approached the group at which point one of the suspects began to run from the area. Patrolman Gigante chased the suspect, identified as Dylan Zimmerman, age 19, from Monmouth Avenue in Leonardo, NJ, and was able to apprehend him in a wooded area a few blocks away. Zimmerman was searched incident to the arrest and a lock blade knife was found in his pocket.
The other two suspects, identified as Brendan Campbell, age 18, from Kelvin Avenue in Leonardo, NJ and Jamie Ippolito, age 18, from Poricy Lane in Middletown, NJ, were also taken into custody.
Zimmerman was charged with Criminal Mischief, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing the Administration of Law, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose. He was held pending bail. Campbell was charged with Criminal Mischief, Obstructing the Administration of Law and Hindering Apprehension. He was held pending bail. Ippolito was charged with Criminal Mischief and Disorderly Conduct. She was also held pending bail.
On August 1, 2011 at approximately 5:40 pm Patrolman Jason Caruso and Patrolman Donald Coates of the Quality of Life Unit attempted to serve arrest warrants at a residence on Baldwin Avenue for a suspect, identified as Joseph Porter, age 49, from Baldwin Avenue in Middletown, NJ. Porter was wanted on Contempt of Court warrants issued by the Middletown, Keyport and Lakehurst Municipal Courts, a warrant issued by the Monmouth County Superior Court and a Fugitive Warrant issued by the State of Florida.
Upon arrival the officers identified themselves as police officers at which point Porter began to run from the officers. The officers chased him on foot and were able to apprehend him in a backyard of a nearby residence. He was transported to police headquarters where he was charged with the additional offense of Obstructing the Administration of Law.
He was being held on $165,271.00 bail.
On August 1, 2011 at approximately 10:20 pm Patrolman Brian Dilworth was on patrol in the area of Beacon Hill Road when he observed a suspicious vehicle parked on the side of the road. The officer approached the vehicle at which point he detected a strong odor of burnt Marijuana coming from inside the car.
The officer conducted an investigation which resulted in the recovery of two pipes used to smoke Marijuana and a grinder used to process Marijuana inside the car. Patrolman Dilworth also located a bag of Marijuana on a rear seat passenger, identified as Thomas Brophy, age 23, from Bingham Avenue in Rumson, NJ.
Brophy was placed under arrest and was transported to police headquarters where he was charged with Possession of under 50 Grams of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was processed and released pending a court date.
On July 29, 2011 at approximately 5:15 pm Patrolman Jason Caruso and Patrolman Donald Coates of the Quality of Life Unit were on patrol in the area of Tindall Road when they stopped a vehicle for failing to maintain a lane of travel. The officers approached the driver, identified as Steven Szot, age 34, from Kimberly Court in Middletown, to obtain his driving credentials. While Szot was looking for his license the officers observed a cellophane wrapper containing pills in plain view in the car.
The officers conducted an investigation which resulted in Szot being arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of Xanax and Oxycodone. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and held on $3,000.00 set by Judge Richard Thompson.
On July 31, 2011 at approximately 1:00 am Patrolman Stephen Greenwood responded to the area of Brandywine Way in reference to a report of an assault that had just occurred. Upon arrival the officer was advised by the victim that he was roller blading home from a friend’s house when a vehicle drove by and yelled obscenities at him. The vehicle then drove up to him at which point three male subjects exited the vehicle, knocked him to the ground and began striking him in the head and face.

The victim provided the officer with a description of the vehicle and suspects, which was then broadcasted to other patrol units in the area. The vehicle was located a short distance away. Officer Greenwood conducted an investigation which resulted in the arrests of Frankie Terracciano, age 18, from Moran Place in Keansburg, NJ, Edward Stoop, age 19, from Moran Place in Keansburg, NJ, and Robert Backovsky, age 20, from Pinehurst Avenue in Port Monmouth, NJ, for Simple Assault.
All three subjects were transported to headquarters where they were processed and released pending a court date.
The Middletown Police Department reports the arrests of the following subjects for various offenses:
Holly Moyer, age 32, from Hialeah Avenue in Middletown, NJ, arrested on July 29, 2011 by Patrolman Brady Carr on a Contempt of Court warrant. She was released after posting $500.00 bail.
Prasad Sripathi, age 46, from Red Barn Lane in Flemington, NJ, arrested on July 29, 2011 by Patrolman Adam Vandetti on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Branchburg Municipal Court. He was released after posting $150.00 bail.
Mary Garulle, age 44, from Sandy Hook Avenue in Belford, NJ, arrested on July 30, 2011 by Patrolman James Beirne on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. She was held on bail.
Lawrence Welch, age 52, from Highland Avenue in Keansburg, NJ, arrested on July 29, 2011 by Patrolman Brady Carr on eight Contempt of Court warrant issued by various municipal courts. He was held on bail.
Tyler Scarangello, age 26, from Highway 36 in Belford, NJ, arrested on July 31, 2011 by Patrolman Keith Hirschbein on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. He was released after posting $500.00 bail.
Lauren Harvey, age 23, from Bloomfield Avenue in Neptune, NJ, arrested on July 31, 2011 by Patrolman Anthony Dellatacoma on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Tinton Falls Municipal Court. She was released after posting $114.00 bail.
Daniel Gilham, age 30, from Ocean Avenue in Middletown, NJ, arrested on July 31, 2011 by Patrolman Richard Belmonte for Simple Assault. He was released pending a court date.
Aimee McGrath, age 28, from Cliffwood Avenue in Cliffwood, NJ, arrested on July 31, 2011 by Patrolman Ralph Flannigan for Simple Assault. She was released pending a court date.
James Coolahan, age 50, from West Hillsdale Avenue in Long Branch, NJ, arrested on July 31, 2011 by Patrolman Michael Pintilie for Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. He was held on $5,000.00 bail set by Judge Richard Thompson.
Kenneth Scaggs, age 21, from Starkey Road in Largo, FL, arrested on August 1, 2011 by Patrolman Donald Coates and Patrolman Jason Caruso of the Quality of Life Unit on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. He was held on $478.00 bail.
Damien Kilpatrick, age 31, from Hwy 35 in Hazlet, NJ, arrested on August 1, 2011 by Detective Daniel Sullivan on two Contempt of Court warrants issued by the Middletown and Keansburg Municipal Courts. He was held on $$1,900.00 bail.
Sandy Kuehl, age 39, from Cranbury, NJ, arrested on August 1, 2011 by Patrolman Greg Buhowski for Simple Assault. She was released on her own recognizance pending

Crime Scene Middletown: Burglary Suspect Apprehended,Employee Theft, Shoplifters Litter Roadway With Stolen Goods And Other Recent Activity

ISSUED Monday, JULY 25TH, 2011 – Arrests do not indicate convictions

On July 21, 2011 at approximately 1:25 pm Patrolman Raymond Sofield responded to the area of Atlantic Avenue to assist the Keansburg Police Department search for a suspect wanted for committing a burglary in Keansburg during which jewelry and a handgun were stolen. Officer Sofeild and officers from the Keansburg Police Department located the suspect, identified as Joseph Lynch, age 25, from Atlantic Avenue in Middletown, at his residence.

The officers conducted an investigation which resulted in Lynch being arrested for Receiving Stolen Property, Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of a Handgun. Police located the stolen handgun and jewelry at his residence at the time of the arrest.

Lynch was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and bail was set at $55,000.00 with a 10% option on the Middletown charges. Lynch also faces charges in Keansburg.

On July 21, 2011 at approximately 12:20 pm Patrolman Donald Coates and Patrolman Jason Caruso were on patrol in the area of Navesink Avenue when they stopped a vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign.

The officers approached the vehicle to speak with the driver when they observed a baggie containing Marijuana and a cigar used to smoke Marijuana in plain view in the car. The officers continued their investigation which resulted in the arrests of Shannon Bell, age 20, from Palmer Avenue in Belford, NJ; Anthony McDonnell, age 21, from Port Monmouth Road in Middletown and a 15 year old male juvenile also from Port Monmouth Road in Middletown being arrested for Possession of under 50 Grams of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

All three subjects were transported to police headquarters for processing. The juvenile was released to his guardian and McDonnell and Bell were released pending a court date.

On July 22, 2011 at approximately 1:36pm Corporal James Keenan responded to the Target Store in reference to a report of an employee theft. Upon arrival the officer was advised by store security that they had observed an employee, identified as Jennifer Digeso, age 29, from Beachway Avenue in Keansburg, NJ, ring several transactions into the cash register and then void them and pocket the cash.

Officer Keenan conducted an investigation which resulted in Digeso being arrested for theft. She was transported to police headquarters where she was processed and released pending a court date.

On July 24, 2011 at approximately 5:05 pm Officer Lisa Vreeland responded to the Shoprite store in reference to a report of a shoplifting. Upon arrival the officer was advised by the store manager that two men had entered the store and then left with a basket full of merchandise. The men reportedly entered a car and attempted to leave the parking lot when their car struck another vehicle.

The manager attempted to approach the vehicle at this time but the vehicle fled the area. The store manager followed the vehicle in his car and discovered the suspects threw the stolen items out of the vehicle. He was able to obtain a plate number for the car which he then provided to the police.

Officer Vreeland located the suspects and conducted an investigation which resulted in the arrests of Robert Newell, age 40, form Kenwood Drive in Middletown and Thomas Scott, age 40, from Atlantic Avenue in Long Branch, NJ, for Shoplifting and Conspiracy. Both subjects were transported to police headquarters where they were processed and were being held on $10,000.00 bail set by Judge James Berube.

On July 24, 2011 at approximately 3:00 am Patrolman Charles Higgins was on patrol in the area of Highway 36 and Church Street when he stopped a vehicle for speeding. Officer Higgins approached the driver, identified as Albin Wicki, age 21, from Third Street in Union Beach, NJ, at which point he detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath.

Officer Higgins conducted an investigation which resulted in Wicki being arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving and Speeding. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.

Kyle Clayton, age 19, from Thousand Oaks Drive in Middletown, NJ, arrested on July 21, 2011 by Corporal Daniel Murdoch for Simple Assault and Criminal Mischief. He was released pending a court date.

Robert Pagan, age 30, from Kimberly Court in Middletown, NJ, arrested on July 24, 2011 by Patrolman Richard Belmonte on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. He was released after posting $250.00 bail.

>Crime Scene Middletown: Car Thief Caught In The Act

On June 29, 2011 at approximately 6:10 am Patrolman Felipe Benedit and Patrolman Anthony Gigante responded to the area of Antonia Court in reference to a report of a car burglary in progress. Patrol officers were advised that a home owner was currently involved in a struggle with the suspect.

Patrolman Benedit arrived on scene and engaged in a foot pursuit with the actor, identified as Matthew Drury, age 25, from Emory Drive in Lincroft, NJ, who had broken away from the home owner. Officer Benedit and Officer Gigante were able to apprehend Drury and take him into custody. Police say the home owner was awoken by his dog barking and observed Drury inside his neighbor’s car. The homeowner then confronted Drury and tried to detain him for the police.

Drury was charged with four counts of Burglary, Simple Assault, Receiving Stolen Property, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Unlawful Possession of Prescription Medication. Drury was found in possession of Xanax and Soboxin at the time of his arrest. He was being held on $52,000.00 bail with no 10% option set by Judge Thompson. Police are investigating whether Drury may be connected to other car burglaries in the area.
