EDin08

While I was checking my mail, down towards the corner of the page, a litte catch prhase caught my eye.

WE WONT ACCEPT IT
“70% of 8th Graders Can’t Read at Grade Level. And Won’t Catch Up.”

After watching a short video, I signed the petition

My wife and I have been working very hard over this school year to get my 7th grade son’s reading level where it should be. He started the year with a 4th grade level reading comprehension, he has now been evaluated to be at a 6th grade level. I totally understand and get what is being addressed here.

>InBev Attemps Take Over of Anheuser-Busch

>In todays Business section of the APP a story appears about the hostile takeover attempt of InBeV to takeover Anheuser-Busch.
InBeV is the parent company of such brews as Becks, Stella Artois and Hoegaarden. InBev bid is believed to be worth $46.3 billion, which is $65 dollars per share.

As a former Busch employee I am stunned at this news, is nothing sacred anymore? This is another example of a foriegn company attempting to takeover an American icon due to the weak dollar.

A web site “saveab.com” in St. Louis has been set up to “try and rally Americans to fight the foreign invasion”. Lets give it our support! Click here to read the full story.

>McCain’s Brian

>Slate.com’s Christopher Beam asks “HOW MIGHT THE SENATOR’S MIND DETERIORATE OVER THE NEXT EIGHT YEARS?”
“John McCain is old and, as several news outlets have reported, he’s only getting older. This wouldn’t be a problem if his opponent in the general election were equally chronologically gifted….”
