>State Budget Agreement In Place

>It seem as though Governor Corzine and Legislative leaders have reach a tentative budget deal.

The $32.8 billion plan will reduce spending by $600 million  and will not include any tax increases.
Kudos to the Governor for his efforts to reign in spending and put this state on course to firm financial footings.

>What will Middletown do? No RCA’s

>The gates that surround Middletown may be coming down soon.

It seems that Middletown will no longer be able to rely on Regional Contribution Agreements (RCA’S) any longer in order to fulfill the towns obligations for affordable housing.
It would appear now that Middletown has no choice, but to build affordable housing for its citizens. This is something that Matt Morehead and his Bayshore Young Democrats have been making an issue of over the past year, much to the displeasure of the Middletown  Republican majority.

>Middletown Delays Budget Again!

>I wasn’t able to attend last nights Middletown Township Committee meeting because of my work schedule, so I don’t know the reason for the latest delay in adopting the budget, I was stunned this morning when I opened the APP to see that the township committee did just that.

What can they possible be waiting for? It has been well known for weeks now that there would be no increase in State aid. This budget is now six months overdue and any cost saving that where put in place would now be virtually non existent due to all of the emergency appropriation over the past six months needed to keep the town running.
