The gates that surround Middletown may be coming down soon.
” An overhaul of New Jersey’s affordable housing law, including the abolishment of the practice of shifting housing obligations from well-to-do towns to poorer cities, was approved by the state Assembly Monday“
It seems that Middletown will no longer be able to rely on Regional Contribution Agreements (RCA’S) any longer in order to fulfill the towns obligations for affordable housing.
It would appear now that Middletown has no choice, but to build affordable housing for its citizens. This is something that Matt Morehead and his Bayshore Young Democrats have been making an issue of over the past year, much to the displeasure of the Middletown Republican majority.
