Zoning Board Hearing Scheduled For Middletown’s Methadone Clinic

If anyone is interested in voicing an opinion about the new methadone clinic on Rt. 35 at the corner of Apple Farm Rd, the Middletown Zoning Board has scheduled a hearing to be held 9-26 at 7pm in the Court Room at Town Hall.

The hearing is the result of local residents who have challenged the facility location, they have appealed the actions of the Zoning Officer in granting a zoning permit and certificate of occupancy to the owners of Middletown Medical and as a result the zoning board has decided to hold a hearing to hear the grievances of the residents that live in the Apple Brook neighborhood, behind the clinic.

IN THE MATTER OF: APPLE BROOK NEIGHBORHOOD ALLIANCE

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THE UNDERSIGNED, APPLE BROOK NEIGHBORHOOD ALLIANCE HAS APPEALED THE ACTION OF THE ZONING OFFICER IN GRANTING A ZONING PERMIT AND CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY TO THE OWNERS AND OPERATORS OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 600 STATE HIGHWAY 35 SO AS TO PERMIT THE USE THEREOF FOR PURPOSES OF A METHADONE CLINIC. APPLICANT SUBMITS THAT THE USE AND PROPERTY IS NON-CONFORMING AND REQUIRES VARIANCES FOR PARKING, DRIVE AND AISLE WIDTH AND SIGN IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION(s) 627, ARTICLE 16 AND ANY AND ALL VARIANCES THAT MIGHT BE DEEMED NECESSARY DURING THE COURSE OF THE HEARING, BY THE ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MIDDLETOWN.

THE PROPERTY WHICH IS THE SUBJECT OF THIS APPEAL IS KNOWN AS 600 STATE HIGHWAY 35, BLOCK 872, LOT(S) 2 WHICH IS WITHIN 200 FEET OF PROPERTY OWNED BY YOU.

THIS APPEAL IS NOW ON THE CALENDAR AND A PUBLIC HEARING HAS BEEN SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER 26, 2011 AT 7:00 P.M. IN THE TOWN HALL MAIN MEETING ROOM, 1 KINGS HIGHWAY, MIDDLETOWN, NEW JERSEY AT WHICH TIME YOU MAY APPEAR IN PERSON, OR BY AN ATTORNEY AND PRESENT ANY OBJECTIONS YOU MAY HAVE TO THE GRANTING OF THIS APPEAL OR EVIDENCE RELATING THERETO. ALL PROPOSED EXHIBITS ARE ON FILE WITH THE ZONING BOARD CLERK AND ARE AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION AT REGULAR BUSINESS HOURS.
