President Obama’s Weekly Address 12/10/11 : Ensuring a Fair Shot for the Middle Class

WASHINGTON— In this week’s address, President Obama told the American people that the United States succeeds when everyone gets a fair shot, does their fair share, and engages in fair play. This is why the President nominated Richard Cordray to lead a new consumer-watchdog agency designed to protect families from being taken advantage of, but Republicans in Congress have blocked the nomination. They have also stood in the way of a balanced plan to extend the payroll tax cut for working families – and the President made clear he believes that elected officials should not go home for the holidays until they’ve done what is right for the American people and for the economy by extending this tax cut.

Princess Picks Week 14 – Giants v. Cowboys

Week 14 of the NFL season is upon us and Princess the Camel of Lacy Township’s Popcorn Park Zoo, is coming off a big win.

Last week she picked the NY Jets to beat the Washington Redskins down at FedEx Field. That pick was in jeopardy going to the 4th quarter, the Jets were down 19-13 to the Skin when all of a sudden, the Redskins imploded by giving up 21 unanswered points in the span of 7 minutes.

For this week’s pick, Princess is taking the NY Giants(6-6) over the Dallas Cowboys (7-5), in Dallas on Sunday night.

So what did Princess have to say about her pick?

“… the Cowboys haven’t won a game in December since I don’t know when and then take into account the Giants 2nd half of the season collapses the last couple of years. Well, one of them is going to win by accident.”, “…But they did play a good game last week even though they lost. Eli will out gun Romo.”

I agree with Princess on this weeks pick, this should be a good game for the Giants. They are the better team and need to beat the Cowboys to keep their playoff hopes alive.
A win Sunday night will give the Giants a slight lead over the Cowboys in the NFC East, but to ensure a playoff spot they will have to win the rest of their games and beat the Cowboys a second time on New Years Day to guarantee it. It wont be easy but I think they will be up to the challenge.
Let’s hope that Princess continues her winning ways this week.
