Crime Scene Middletown: More Boarded Juveniles and Standoff With Knife Wielder During Past Two Days

ISSUED Tuesday, August 10th, 2011 – Arrests do not indicate convictions

On August 9, 2011 at approximately 2:40 am Corporal Douglas Wiatrak was on patrol in the area of the Beacon Hill Country Club when he observed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. The officer also observed a male subject standing on the porch of the building. Corporal Wiatrak began to approach the subject when he fled on foot.


Officer Wiatrak provided a description of the subject to surrounding patrol units who located the subject and another vehicle on Koosman Drive, a nearby street. The vehicle was occupied by four juveniles. Officers conducted an investigation which resulted in the recovery of Marijuana, a pipe used to smoke Marijuana, alcohol and the arrests of a 17 year old female from Middletown, NJ, a 17 year old female Middletown, NJ, a 17 year old male from Leonardo, NJ, and a 17 year old female from Belford, NJ being arrested.

All four subjects were charged with Possession of under 50 Grams of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Defiant Trespass and Underage Possession of Alcohol. They were transported to police headquarters and were released pending a court date.

On August 9, 2011 at approximately 4:00 pm Patrolman Keith Hirschbein was on patrol in the area of Port Monmouth Road when he observed a vehicle being operated with a brake light out. The officer stopped the vehicle and approached the driver. The driver advised the officer that he did not have his license on him and then provided him with a fake name. Officer Hirschbein was able to identify the driver as Edward Rodriguez-Trujillo, age 19, from Bayview Avenue in Keansburg, NJ, at which point he was placed under arrest for providing false information.

Officer Hirschbein also detected an odor of raw Marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle and observed Marijuana in plain view near the passenger seat. He continued his investigation which resulted in the recovery of a Marijuana grinder, which is a device used to process Marijuana for smoking, and the arrest of the passenger, identified as Thomas Parnell, age 19, from Woodside Avenue in Keansburg, NJ.

Both subjects were transported to police headquarters for processing. Rodriguez-Trujillo was charged with Obstructing the Administration of Law and Parnell was charged with Possession of under 50 Grams of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both subjects were released pending a court date.

On August 8, 2011 at approximately 7:20 am Patrolman Brian Dilworth responded to a residence on Monmouth Avenue in the Navesink section of Middletown in reference to a report of two subjects yelling at each other. Upon arrival Officer Dilworth located one of the subjects standing in the backyard holding a large knife.

Officer Dilworth ordered the subject, identified as James Wierzbicky, age 42, from Monmouth Avenue in Navesink, NJ, to drop the knife. Wierzbicky ignored numerous warnings from the officer to drop the weapon. After a brief stand-off, the suspect finally dropped the knife and was taken into custody when back-up units arrived.

Wierzbicky was charged with Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose. He was held on $15,000.00 bail with no 10% option set by Judge Richard Thompson.

On August 8, 2011 at approximately 5:40 pm Corporal Joseph Glynn and Patrolman Thomas Russo responded to the area of Nutswamp Road in reference to a report of occupants of a vehicle shooting pellets at other cars. The description of the vehicle was given out to surrounding police units and was located and stopped by Patrolman Albert Scott on Middletown Lincroft Road.
The officers conducted an investigation which resulted in the recovery of a spring action pellet gun and a container of pellets. The officers also located three pipes used to smoke Marijuana and a grinder which is a device used to prepare Marijuana for smoking.

The investigation also resulted in the arrests of Max Lopez, age 18, from East Roosevelt Circle for Possession of Marijuana under 50 Grams, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia , Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Firearm for an Unlawful purpose; a 17 year old male juvenile from Middletown for Possession of Marijuana under 50 Grams, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of an Imitation Firearm; a 16 year old male juvenile from Red Bank, NJ, for Possession of Marijuana under 50 Grams, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of an Imitation Firearm; and a 16 year old male juvenile from Middletown, NJ, for Possession of Marijuana under 50 Grams, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of an imitation Firearm.

All subjects were transported to police headquarters where they were released pending a court date.

On August 8, 2011 Detective Daniel Sullivan arrested Chaula Bhatt, age 38, from Poplar Lane in Old Bridge, NJ for Criminal Mischief. Detective Sullivan conducted a follow up investigation into a complaint received from AT&T in reference to damage committed at their facility located on Laurel Avenue. Corporate officials advised police that Bhatt, a former employee, had damaged an electric door scanner and several signs on the property and the vandalism had been captured on surveillance cameras.

Detective Sullivan reviewed the surveillance footage and arrested Bhatt. She was held on $1,000.00 bail with a 10% option set by Judge Richard Thompson.

On August 8, 2011 at approximately 9:45 pm Patrolman Ian May responded to the New Monmouth Baptist Church in reference to a report of an intoxicated subject who was attempting to get into the church. Upon arrival a member of the church advised the officer that a man came to the church door and began yelling and demanding entry.

Officer May located the subject, identified as Dennis Bannon, age 47, from Highway 36 in Leonardo, NJ, in the parking lot of the church. Officer May conducted an investigation which resulted in Bannon being arrested for Disorderly Conduct. Officer May also determined that there were three outstanding Contempt of Court warrants issued by the Red Bank, Keansburg and Highlands Municipal Courts for Bannon’s arrest.

He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and held on $750.00 bail.

On August 8, 2011 at approximately 10:40 pm Patrolman Donald Coates and Patrolman David Crenshaw responded to the concession stand at McMahon Park in reference to a report that someone had entered the stand after hours. Upon arrival the officers noticed the door was closed and that there was a light on inside the stand.

The officers entered the stand and located two juveniles inside. The juveniles were identified as a 13 year old male from Middletown and a 15 year old male from Middletown. Both subjects were arrested for Criminal Trespass and were transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released to their parents pending a court date.

On August 9, 2011 Patrolman Brian Dilworth and Patrolman Michael Reuter responded to a residence on First Avenue in the Navesink section of Middletown in reference to a report of a subject passed out on the front lawn. Upon arrival the officers were advised by the homeowner that she observed an unknown subject rolling around on her front lawn yelling and screaming.

The officers approached the subject, identified as Cesar Moya, age 31, from Monroe Avenue in Shrewsbury, NJ, and determined that he was extremely intoxicated. The officers arrested Moya for Disorderly Conduct. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.

The Middletown Police Department reports the arrests of the following subjects for various offenses:

Mary Dressler, age 42, from North Carriage Road in Hazlet, NJ, arrested on August 8, 2011 by Patrolman Jason Caruso on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Freehold Borough Municipal Court. She was released after posting $156.00 bail.

Donald Quarles, age 32, from Chestnut Avenue in Navesink, NJ, arrested on August 8, 2011 by Corporal Ralph Flannigan on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Highlands Municipal Court. He was held on $216.00 bail.

Patrick Masterson, age 22, from Tennent Road in Morganville, NJ, arrested on August 8, 2011 by Corporal James Keenan on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Atlantic Highlands Municipal Court. He was held on $165.00 bail.

John Hoffman, age 28, from Eighth Street in Belford, NJ, arrested on August 8, 2011 by Corporal Joseph Glynn on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Pleasantville Municipal Court. He was released after posting $89.00 bail.

Kyle Clayton, age 19, from Thousand Oaks Drive in Navesink, NJ, arrested on August 8, 2011 by Patrolman Keith Hirschbein on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Keansburg Municipal Court. He was released after posting $200.00 bail.

Joseph Colasacco, age 32, from Creek Road in Port Monmouth, NJ, arrested on August 8, 2011 by Patrolman Stephen Keller on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Red bank Municipal Court and a Non Support warrant issued by the Monmouth County Superior Court. He was held on bail.

Jessica Brady, age 30, from King James Lane in Atlantic Highlands, NJ, arrested on August 8, 2011 by Patrolman Nicholas Fenezia on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Red Bank Municipal Court. She was released after posting $165.00 bail.

Christopher Kamna, age 21, from Bamm Hollow Road in Middletown, NJ, arrested on August 9, 2011 by Patrolman Greg Buhowski on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Lake Como Municipal Court. He was released after posting $296.00 bail.

Ashley Blascak, age 20, from Ironwood Court in Middletown, NJ, arrested on August 8, 2011 by Patrolman John Mele for Simple Assault. She was released pending a court date.

On August 9, 2011 Patrolman Frank Mazza arrested a 17 year old male juvenile from Ocean Avenue in Middletown for Terroristic Threats, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose. He was being held at the Middlesex County Youth Detention Center.

James Elliassen, age 27, from Ninth Street in Belford, NJ, arrested on August 5, 2011 by Patrolman James Beirne on warrants signed by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force Bayshore Unit for Possession of Marijuana, Distribution of Less than one Ounce of Marijuana and Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana with 1000 feet of a School Zone. He was held on bail.

James Murphy, age 27, from Virginia Avenue in Hazlet, NJ, arrested on August 5, 2011 by Patrolman Donald Coates and Patrolman Jason Caruso of the Quality of Life Unit on warrants signed by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force Bayshore Unit for Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of Methadone, and Possession with the Intent to Distribute Within 500 Feet of a Public Park. He was processed and released pending a court date.

Casey Hewitt, age 18, from Kanes Lane in Middletown, NJ, arrested on August 8, 2011 by Patrolman Christian Clark for Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Simple Assault, and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose. She was held on $3,500.00 set by Judge Richard Thompson.

Philip Moffat, age 30, from Manor Drive in Union, NJ, arrested on August 9, 2011 by Patrolman Richard Belmonte on Contempt of Court warrants issued by the Westwood Borough Municipal Court. He was released after posting bail.

Crime Scene Middletown: Middletown Police Arrest Bartender And Other Recent Activity

MIDDLETOWN, NJ – On July 9, 2011 the Middletown Police Detective Bureau conducted an Alcohol Beverage Control inspection at the Junction Bar and Liquors located on Main Street in Belford. The purpose of the inspection was to enforce ordinances and laws pertaining to the sale of alcoholic beverages. The detectives conducted an investigation which resulted in the issuance of numerous ordinance violations. The detectives determined that none of the employees of the establishment had ABC cards which are required to serve alcohol.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of an employee, identified as Thomas Dundon, age 31, from Peters Place in Red Bank, NJ, being arrested on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Asbury Park Municipal Court. He was being held on bail.

Also arrested was a bartender, identified as David Miller, age 50, from Patterson Lane in Red Bank, NJ, for Possession of Cocaine and Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine after police located the Cocaine in his possession. Police say the cocaine was packaged for sale.

The detectives closed the establishment pending further investigation.

On July 8, 2011 at approximately 6:35 pm Patrolman Brady Carr responded to the Bottle King Liquor Store on Highway 35 in reference to a report of a juvenile who attempted to purchase alcohol with a fake driver’s license.

Upon arrival Officer Carr conducted an investigation which resulted in the arrest of a 17 year old female juvenile from Center Avenue in Rumson, NJ, being arrested for Possession of a False Driver’s License. She was transported to police headquarters where she was processed and released to her father.

On July 8, 2011 at approximately 8:30 pm Patrolman Brady Carr responded to the Bottle King Liquor Store in reference to a report of an underage subject who attempted to purchase alcohol with another person’s driver’s license and debit card. Upon arrival the officer conducted an investigation which resulted in the arrest of Justin Horowitz, age 19, from Brandywine Way in Middletown, NJ, being arrested for Fraudulent Use of a Debit Card.

Horowitz was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.

On July 8, 2011 at approximately 10:00 pm Patrolman Keith Hirschbein was dispatched to the area of Hartshorne Park to meet with a Park Ranger in reference to a report of three subjects possibly engaging in narcotics activity. Upon arrival the officer met with the Park Ranger who advised the officer that he had located a parked vehicle and approached the occupants to check on their well-being. While speaking with the occupants the ranger detected an odor of Marijuana coming from the car.

Officer Hirschbein conducted an investigation which resulted in the arrests of Christopher Marsillo, age 18, from Laurel Brook Road in Lincroft, NJ, being arrested for Possession of Under 50 Grams of Marijuana; Cole Samuels, age 18, from Navesink Avenue in Atlantic Highlands, NJ, being arrested for Possession of Under 50 Grams of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and James Caronia, age 18, from Roberta Drive in Middletown, NJ, being arrested for Possession of Under 50 Grams of Marijuana.

All three subjects were transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released pending a court date.

On July 8, 2011 at approximately 5:45 pm Patrolman Keith Hirschbein was on patrol in the area of McMahon Park when he observed a Park Ranger investigating a complaint involving alcohol. The officer assisted the ranger and located a crumpled up dollar bill containing Marijuana in the area.

Officer Hirschbein conducted an investigation which resulted in the arrest of Edward Salkow, age 22, from Salem Avenue in Elizabeth, NJ, being arrested for Possession of under 50 Grams of Marijuana. The officer also located a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Newark Municipal Court for his arrest.The officer continued his investigation and located a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Roselle Municipal Court for a second subject, identified as Thorn Ruiz, age 23, from Hayes Avenue in Elizabeth, NJ.

Both subjects were transported to police headquarters for processing and were released pending a court date.

On July 8, 2011 at approximately 2:55 pm Patrolman Richard Belmonte and Patrolman Keith Hirschbein responded to the Foodtown in reference to a report of a shoplifting. Upon arrival security advised the officers that they observed two juveniles attempt to steal approximately $20.00 worth of food and candy.

The officers conducted an investigation which resulted in the arrests of a 17 year old female juvenile from Vermont Avenue in Port Monmouth, NJ, and a 16 year old female juvenile from Green Field Way in Belford, NJ. The 16 year old female was also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of under 50 Grams of Marijuana. Both subjects were released pending a court date.

On July 9, 2011 at approximately 5:25 pm Patrolman Keith Hirschbein responded to the area of Highway 36 and Palmer Avenue in Middletown in reference to a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival the officer conducted an investigation which resulted in the arrest of Jamie Yeager, age 29, from Highway 105 in Vidor, Texas, being arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.

Yeager was transported to police headquarters where she was processed and released pending a court date.

On July 9, 2011 at approximately 12:28 pm Patrolman John Mele was given a description of a vehicle possibly being operated by a drunk driver which was called in by a citizen who had been driving behind the car. Sgt. Bagileo and Officer Mele located the vehicle a short time later in the area of Church Street and Liberty Street. The driver, identified as Sean Stewart, age 48, from Kimberly Court in Middletown, NJ, appeared to be asleep behind the wheel.

Officer Mele conducted an investigation which resulted in Stewart being arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Reckless Driving. He was transported to police headquarters where he was charged with the additional offense of Refusal to Submit Breath Samples. He was processed and released pending a court date.

On July 9, 2011 at approximately 10:55 pm Patrolman Christian Clark responded to the Lincroft Acme in reference to a report of a criminal mischief to a motor vehicle. Upon arrival the officer spoke with the owner of the vehicle who informed him that a subject, identified as Evan Raczkiewicz, age 18, from Newman Springs Road in Lincroft, NJ, purposely ran and jumped on his car causing damage to the roof.

Officer Clark conducted an investigation which resulted in Rackiewicz being arrested for Criminal Mischief and Underage Possession of Alcohol. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.

On July 10, 2011 at approximately 7:55 pm Patrolman Michael Reuter responded to the Bayshore Waterfront Park to assist a Park Ranger who had two subjects detained for possession of Marijuana. Upon arrival the Park Ranger advised Officer Reuter that he was walking in the area when he observed the two subjects rolling what appeared to be a Marijuana Cigar. The Park Ranger confiscated the Marijuana and detained the subjects until the police arrived.

Officer Reuter placed both subjects under arrest. They were identified as Timothy Enny, age 18, from Arthur Place in Middletown, NJ and a seventeen year old male juvenile from Port Monmouth, NJ. Both subjects were transported to police headquarters where they were charged with Possession of under 50 Grams of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. They were processed and released pending a court date.

On July 10, 2011 at approximately 9:30 pm police responded to the area of Powell Avenue in reference to a report of a large party. Upon arrival officers located over 100 juveniles in the area. Police received numerous calls about intoxicated juveniles running through yards and standing in the streets. Corporal James Keenan was attempting to the clear the area when a 16 year old female juvenile, from Maplewood Drive in Middletown, ignored numerous requests to leave the area.

Corporal Keenan approached the female who began to yell and scream and curse at the officer. Officer Keenan then attempted to arrest her at which point she pushed his hand away and attempted to push him in the chest. Officer Keenan was able to take her into custody and placed her in his patrol car. The juvenile then attempted to take some of the officer’s personal property from the patrol car.

She was transported to police headquarters where she was charged with Theft, Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest. She was processed and released to her father pending a court date.

On July 10, 2011 at approximately 1:45 am Sgt. William Colangelo responded to the area of Port Monmouth road in reference to a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival the officer located the driver, identified as Damian Neri, age 23, from Port Monmouth Road in Middletown, NJ, sitting on a curb. The officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath.

Sgt. Colangelo conducted an investigation which resulted in Neri being arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving and Driving While Revoked. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.

On July 11, 2011 at approximately 4:30 pm Patrolman Raymond Sofield responded to the area of the Shore Crest Mini Park for report of possible narcotics activity taking place. The police desk has received a call about a meeting that was taking place in the park between two people during which narcotics were going to be purchased.

Office Sofield conducted an investigation which resulted in the arrest of a 15 year old male juvenile from Linden Avenue in Red Bank, NJ, for Loitering with Intent to Distribute Narcotics. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released to his parents.

On July 11, 2011 at approximately 2:10 pm Patrolman Nicholas Fenezia was on patrol in the area of the Maguires Grove Apartment Complex when he conducted a motor vehicle stop for an expired registration. While speaking with the driver, identified as Dean Ferry, age 26, from Kimberly Court in Middletown, he discovered an outstanding Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Keyport Municipal Court for Ferry’s arrest. Officer Fenezia placed Ferry under arrest.

Ferry advised the officer that he had bail money in his apartment and requested that the officer follow him into the apartment in order for him to get the money. Officer Fenezia followed Ferry into the apartment at which point he detected a strong odor of raw Marijuana. The officer then observed a Marijuana grow operation inside an open closet.

Officer Fenezia continued his investigation which resulted in the recovery of Marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The investigation resulted in Ferry being charged with the additional offenses of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana within 500 feet of a Park, Possession of over 50 Grams of Marijuana, and Manufacturing over 50 Grams of Marijuana. Also arrested was Ferry’s girlfriend, Kristen Reedy, age 24, also from Kimberly Court in Middletown, NJ. She was charged with the same offenses as Ferry.

Both subjects were transported to police headquarters where they were processed. Reedy was released on her own recognizance pending a court date and Ferry was held on $1,000.00 bail with no 10% option.

On July 13, 2011 at approximately 1:50 am Patrolman James Beirne was on patrol in the area of Cherry Tree Farm Road when he pulled over a vehicle for multiple motor vehicle violations. Officer Beirne approached the driver, identified as Sergio Amoedo, age 23, from Stone Road in Hazlet, NJ, and detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath.

Officer Beirne conducted an investigation which resulted in Amoedo being arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Reckless Driving. He was transported to headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.

On July 13, 2011 Detective Adam Finck arrested Dennis Cernek, age 51, from 37th Street in North Bergen, NJ, for Theft after a four month investigation. Cernek used a dating website, Plenty-O-Fish.com, as well as other websites, to meet his victim. After dating for a while Cernek stole jewelry from her home.

He was processed and was being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Facility in Freehold, NJ, on $10,000.00 bail set by Judge Michael Pugliese.

Jason Venson, age 31, from Knollwood Drive in Middletown, NJ, arrested on July 10, 2011 by Patrolman John Mele for Violation of a Court Order and a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Red Bank Municipal Court. He was held on $2,589.00 bail.
Thorn Ruiz, age 23, from Hayes Avenue in Elizabeth, NJ, arrested on July 8, 2011 by Patrolman Brady Carr on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Roselle Municipal Court. He was released on his own recognizance.

Angela Boden Scotti, age 47, from Shore Boulevard in Keansburg, NJ, arrested on July 9, 2011 by Patrolman Charles Higgins on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Jersey City Municipal Court. She was released after posting $100.00 bail.

Phillip Roenbeck, age 19, from Morningside Avenue in Middletown, NJ, arrested on July 9, 2011 by Patrolman John Soltysik on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Oceanport Municipal Court. He was released after posting $750.00 bail.

Joseph Colasacco, age 32, from Creek Road in Port Monmouth, NJ, arrested on July 9, 2011 by Patrolman Stephen Keller for Simple Assault. He was released pending a court date.

William Roberts, age 72, from Morris Avenue in Belford, NJ, arrested on July 10, 2011 by Patrolman Keith Hirschbein for Terroristic Threats, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose. He was released after posting bail.

Pamela Koba-Marrazzo, age 41, from Tindall Road in Middletown, NJ, arrested on July 11, 2011 by Patrolman Jason Caruso on two Contempt of Court warrants issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. She was released after posting $185.00 bail.

Jean Stewart, age 31, from Washington Street in West New York, NJ, arrested on July 10, 2011 by Patrolman Michael Reuter on a Fugitive Warrant out of the state of Florida and four Contempt of Court warrant issued by the West New York and the Hoboken Municipal Courts. He was being held in the Monmouth County Correctional Facility in Freehold, NJ.

Jennifer Hicks, age 31, from Thousand Oaks Drive in Atlantic Highlands, NJ, arrested on July 11, 2011 by Patrolman Jason Caruso on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. She was released after posting $546.00 bail.

Amanda Pardee, age 26, from Ocean Avenue in Middletown, NJ, arrested on July 11, 2011 by Patrolman Christopher Dee for Simple Assault with a Motor Vehicle. She was being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Facility in Freehold, NJ, on $2,500 bail set by Judge Richard Thompson.

Carissa Bossert, age 23, from Woods End Drive in Middletown, NJ, arrested on July 11, 2011 by Patrolman Robert McNair on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Oceanport Municipal Court. She was held on bail.

Ernesto Flores, age 27, from Amboy Road in Staten Island, NY, arrested on July 11, 2011 by Corporal James Keenan on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Heightstown Municipal Court. He was held on $950.00 bail.

Phillip Lamoreaux, age 22, from Golden Eye Lane in Port Monmouth, NJ, arrested on July 12, 2011 by Patrolman Christopher Dee on two Contempt of Court warrants issued by the New Brunswick Municipal Court. He was released after posting $950.00 bail.

Robert Boyce, age 49, from Alberta Avenue in Neptune, NJ, arrested on July 12, 2011 by Patrolman Stephen Keller on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. He was being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Facility in Freehold, NJ.

Daniel Limbach, age 30, from Rose Terrace in West Keansburg, NJ, arrested on July 12, 2011 by Corporal Keith MacDonald on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. He was held on $550.00 bail.

Adam Kurczeski, age 30, from Mounts Mill Road in Monroe, NJ, arrested on July 13, 2011 by Patrolman Antonio Ciccone on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. He was held at the Monmouth County Correctional Facility in Freehold, NJ.

Ebony Crank, age 27, from Matawan Avenue in Cliffwood, NJ, arrested on July 12, 2011 by Patrolman Donald Coates and Patrolman Jason Caruso on a warrant signed by the Monmouth County Narcotics Strike Force Bayshore Unit for Possession of Heroin, Possession of Cocaine, Possession with the Intent to Distribute Heroin, Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine, Distribution of Heroin and Distribution of Cocaine. She was released after posting $5,000.00 bail with a 10% option.

On June 14, 2011 at approximately 6:00 pm Patrolman Adam Vandetti responded to the Shoprite Store in reference to a report of a shoplifter. Upon arrival the officer was advised by store security that they had observed Kathleen Anderson, age 47, from Greengrove Avenue in Keyport, NJ, load up her cart with over $550.00 in merchandise and then leave the store.

Anderson was taken into custody and was transported to police headquarters where she was charged with Shoplifting. She was processed and released pending a court date.

On June 14, 2011 at approximately 12:15 am Patrolman James Beirne responded to the area of Middletown Lincroft Road in reference to a report of a car burglary that just occurred. Upon arrival the victim provided officers with a description of the actor who was located a short time later on Kings Highway East.

Officer Beirne conducted an investigation and arrested Peter Christensen, age 18, from Florence Avenue in Leonardo, NJ. Detective Kelly Godley conducted a follow up investigation which resulted in Christensen being charged with Burglary and Theft. He was processed and held on bail.

On June 15, 2011 Detective William Strohkirch arrested Brendan Frank, age 18, from Fleetwood Drive in Hazlet, NJ, for Burglary, Theft and Theft of a Means of Conveyance as a result of an investigation into a burglary that occurred at a residence on Club Way.

Detective Strohkirch determined that Frank had entered the residence while the victim was away on vacation and stole jewelry and electronics valued at over $16,000. Frank also used the victim’s car to transport the stolen items to local jewelry stores where he attempted to sell the items.

Frank was held on $10,000 bail set by Judge Richard Thompson.

On June 16, 2011 Detective Kimberly Best arrested two male juveniles who were charged with Burglary and Theft as a result of an investigation into a burglary that occurred at a residence on East Roosevelt Circle on June 8, 2011.

Detective Best determined that the juveniles entered the residence and stole a camera and laptop computer. Both juveniles were processed and released to their parents pending a court date.

On June 16, 2011 at approximately 9:30 pm Patrolman John Mele was on patrol in the area of Hubbard Avenue when he observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. Officer Mele stopped the vehicle and approached the driver, identified as Faustino Fernanadez Cantero, age 24, from Wilson Circle in Red Bank, NJ at which point he detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the car.

Officer Mele conducted an investigation which resulted in Fernanadez Cantero being charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving and Speeding. He was processed and released pending a court date.

On June 16, 2011 at approximately 8:14 pm Patrolman Brian Dilworth and Patrolman Anthony Dellatacoma were on patrol in the area of Wilson Avenue when they observed a vehicle being operated with a broken taillight. The officers stopped the vehicle and conducted an investigation which resulted in the rear seat passenger, a 17 year old male juvenile, being arrested for Possession of under 50 grams of Marijuana.

The juvenile was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released to his parents pending a court date.

On June 17, 2011 Detective Daniel Sullivan arrested William Knabe, age 33, from Beacon Boulevard in Keansburg, NJ, and Carrie Chapman, age 31, from Avenue C in Hazlet, NJ. Knabe was charged with Burglary, Theft and Conspiracy and Chapman was charged with Conspiracy as a result of an investigation into a car burglary that occurred on Palmer Avenue in Middletown on June 13, 2011.

Detective Sullivan determined that Knabe had committed the burglary and stole numerous items from the vehicle to include the victim’s credit card. Knabe and Chapman then used the stolen credit card at the Shell Gas Station in Keansburg. Knabe and Chapman were also charged with using the stolen credit card by Detective Jason Lopez of the Keansburg Police Department.

Knabe was held on $5,000 bail and Chapman was released pending a court date.

On June 17, 2011 at approximately 7:50 pm Patrolman Stephen Keller responded to an accident on Wilson Avenue. Upon arrival the officer conducted an investigation which resulted in one of the drivers, identified as William Daley, age 53, being arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.

Daley was transported to police headquarters where he was charged with the additional offenses of Reckless Driving and Failure to Maintain Lanes. He was processed and released pending a court date.

On June 17, 2011 at approximately 5:45 pm Patrolman Anthony Dellatacoma and Patrolman Brian Dilworth were on patrol in the area of Wilson Avenue when they observed a suspicious person walking in the area. The officers spoke with the subject, identified as Wayne Carhart, age 32, from Main Street in Port Monmouth, NJ, and determined that there was an outstanding Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court for his arrest.

The officers placed Carhart under arrest on the warrant and conducted a search incident to the arrest at which point they located a small plastic baggie which contained a rock like substance believed to be Crack Cocaine and a pipe used to smoke Crack on his person.

Carhart was transported to police headquarters where he was charged with Contempt of Court, Possession of Crack Cocaine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was held on $8,500 bail with no 10% option set by Judge Richard Thompson.

On June 18, 2011 at approximately 2:15 pm Patrolman Christian Clark responded to a residence on Michael Drive in reference to a 17 year old female who was out of control and attempting to leave the residence. Upon arrival Patrolman Clark conducted an investigation which resulted in the female being arrested for Possession of Heroin and Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe.

She was transported to police headquarters where she was processed and released to her parents pending a court date.

On June 18, 2011 at approximately 12:05 am Patrolman Frank Mazza responded to the area of Thompson Avenue in reference to a vehicle that struck a fence. Upon arrival the officer conducted an investigation which resulted in the recovery of a glass pipe and a metal pipe used to smoke controlled dangerous substances and the arrest of the driver, identified as William Smith, age 36, from Thompson Avenue in West Keansburg, NJ.

Smith was transported to police headquarters where he was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and was issued several motor vehicle summonses. He was processed and released on his own recognizance pending a court date.

On June 19, 2011 at approximately 8:25 pm Patrolman Michael Reuter responded to a residence on Oakdale Drive in reference to a subject making false reports to the police department. The subject, identified as Janis VanNortwick, age 42, from Oakdale Drive in Middletown, NJ, was continuously calling the police department reporting incidents that did not occur.

Office Reuter conducted an investigation which resulted in VanNortwick being arrested for False Reports to Law Enforcement. She was transported to police headquarters where she was processed and released pending a court date.

On June 21, 2011 at approximately 12:15 am Corporal Douglas Wiatrak conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Oak Hill Road and Highway 35. Upon approaching the vehicle the officer detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverages coming from the interior of the car.

Corporal Wiatrak conducted an investigation which resulted in the arrests of Damian Newell, age 18, from Nautilus Drive in Leonardo, NJ; Joseph Gambardella, age 18, from Michael Drive in Middletown, NJ, and Brett Williams, age 19, from Nautilus Drive in Leonardo, NJ, being arrested for Underage Possession of Alcohol. All three subjects were transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released pending a court date.

Jasmine Graham, age 18, from Rutherford Avenue in Neptune, NJ, arrested on June 13, 2011 by Patrolman Robert McNair on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Wall Township Municipal Court. She was held on bail.

Katherine Canavan, age 44, from Jefferson Street in Red Bank, NJ, arrested on June 13, 2011 by Corporal Richard Fusella on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Red Bank Municipal court. She was processed and released on bail.

Ryam Fisher, age 30, from Harbor View Drive in Atlantic Highlands, NJ, arrested on June 13, 2011 by Patrolman Adam Vandetti for Criminal Mischief and Simple Assault. He was released after posting $2,500 bail.

James Rathburn, age 41, from Oakland Avenue in Atlantic Highlands, NJ, arrested on June 13, 2011 by Patrolman Carl Roth for Harassment. He was held on $1,000.00 bail with no 10% option.

On May 31, 2011 at approximately 12:00 pm Patrolman Keith Hirschbein responded to the area of the Henry Hudson Trail in reference to a report of two unconscious subjects lying across the bike trail. Upon arrival Officer Hirschbein located both subjects and observed a Marijuana pipe sticking out of the pants pocket of one of them. The officer was able to wake both subjects.

Patrolman Hirschbein conducted an investigation which resulted in a 17 year old juvenile being arrested for Possession of drug paraphernalia and Obstructing a public passage. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released to his mother pending a court date.

On May 31, 2011 at approximately 10:20 pm Patrolman James Beirne and Patrolman Raymond Sofield responded to a residence on Point O Woods Road in reference to an unresponsive subject in a vehicle. Upon arrival the officers located the subject, identified as David Walsh, age 24, from Marvin Road in Middletown.

The officers conducted an investigation and located Heroin and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Walsh and a passenger, identified as Angelica Dudzinski, age 20, from Swartzel Drive in Middletown, were placed under arrest.

Both subjects were transported to police headquarters. Walsh was charged with Possession of Heroin and Possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held on $10,000.00 bail with no 10% option set by Judge Richard Thompson. Dudzinski was charged with Possession of Heroin and was released pending a court date.

On June 2, 2011 at approximately 12:45 pm the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force Bayshore Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Prospect Avenue in the Navesink section of Middletown.

The warrant resulted in the recovery of over one pound of Marijuana, $3,900 in US currency, a small Marijuana growing operation and the seizure of the suspect’s truck. Police also arrested Robert Edmonston, age 18, from Prospect Avenue in Atlantic Highlands. He was charged with Distribution of less than one ounce of Marijuana, Possession of under 50 grams of Marijuana, Possession of drug paraphernalia, and Possession of over 50 grams of Marijuana. Detective Daniel Sullivan of the Middletown Police Department assisted in the investigation.

Edmonston was processed and released pending a court date.

On June 3, 2011 at approximately 2:05 am Patrolman David Crenshaw and Patrolman Donald Coates responded to the area of Red Hill Road in reference to a subject in a car slumped over the steering wheel.

Upon arrival the officer located the subject, Daniel Coppola, age 41, from Hopkins Terrace in Hazlet, NJ. The officers detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath. The officers conducted an investigation which resulted in Coppola being arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.

He was transported to police headquarters where was charged with the additional offenses of Refusal to submit to breath tests, Reckless driving and Driving while suspended. He was processed and released pending a court date.

On June 3, 2011 at approximately 10:45 am Lieutenant John Maguire responded to Middletown High School South in reference to a disorderly student. Upon arrival Lieutenant Maguire was advised by school officials that the 16 year old female student was refusing to report to the office.

Lieutenant Maguire approached the student at which point she began to yell and scream and disrupt the school. Lieutenant Maguire then attempted to place her under arrest at which point she began to fight and refused to be handcuffed.

Lieutenant Maguire was able to take the student into custody at which point she was transported to police headquarters where she was charged with Disorderly conduct and Resisting arrest. She was processed and released pending a court date.

On June 3, 2011 at approximately 1:40 pm Patrolman John Mele responded to Ricc’is Trailer Center located on Highway 36 in Middletown in reference to a report of a suspicious person inside the store. Upon arrival Officer Mele was advised by store employees that the subject, identified as Marc Melendez, age 29, from Thousand Oaks Drive in the Atlantic Highlands section of Middletown, entered the store after seeing a police officer who was on a motor vehicle stop in front of the store and began acting strangely.

Patrolman Mele approached the subject and conducted an investigation which resulted in Melendez being arrested for Possession of a controlled dangerous substance (Xanax). He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.

On June 3, 2011 at approximately 8:15 pm Patrolman Frank Mazza was conducting a foot patrol in the area of Ideal Beach when he observed a 17 year old female juvenile sitting on a blanket holding a bottle of Vodka. Officer Mazza arrested the juvenile and transported her to police headquarters where she was charged with Possession of alcohol underage. She was processed and released pending a court date.

On June 3, 2011 at approximately 11:30 pm Sergeant William Colangelo and Patrolman Richard Fulham were assigned to a “Cops in Shops” detail at The Junction Bar and Liquor store in Belford when they observed a young looking male enter the store and then exit carrying a package of Yuengling Beer. The male subject then entered a vehicle which was occupied by another young looking male.

The officers approached the vehicle and conducted an investigation which resulted in Matthew Short, age 21, from Pond Street in Orono, Minnesota, being arrested for Providing alcohol to an underage person and Matthew Dacey, age 20, from Jay Drive in Middletown being arrested for Possession of alcohol under the legal age. Both subjects were transported to police headquarters where they were released pending a court date.

On June 4, 2011 at approximately 12:40 am Patrolman Frank Mazza was on patrol in the area of Highway 35 and Cooper Road when he observed a vehicle being driven with a view obstruction in the window. Officer Mazza stopped the vehicle and approached the driver, identified as Scott Jagarnauth, age 19, from Swimming River Road in Lincroft. While speaking with Jagarnauth, Officer Mazza observed a bottle of Jack Daniels Whiskey on the backseat.

Officer Mazza conducted an investigation which resulted in Jagarnauth being arrested for Possession of alcohol underage. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.

On June 4, 2011 at approximately 10:27 pm Patrolman Nicholas Fenezia was on patrol in the area of Fairview Fields when he observed a group of approximately 15 people begin running when they saw his police vehicle. Officer Fenezia was able to locate two subjects and provided a description of another subject to patrol officers in the area.

Patrolman Michael Pintilie was able to locate the subject on a nearby street. The officers conducted an investigation which resulted in the arrests of three subjects. Jared Johnson, age 19, from North 147 Avenue in Surprise, Arizona, was charged with Underage possession of alcohol and Obstructing the administration of law. Samuel Mader, age 19, from Conover Lane in Red Bank, NJ, was charged with Possession of alcohol underage, Possession of under 50 grams of Marijuana and Obstructing the administration of law. Timothy Dugan, age 19, from McCutcheon Court in Middletown, was charged with Possession of alcohol underage and Obstructing the administration of law.

All three subjects were transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released pending a court date.

On June 5, 2011 at approximately 6:15 am Patrolman Albert Scott and Sgt. Fred Deickmann responded to the area of Richard Terrace and Stephenville Road in reference to a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival the officers located, Brian Robison, age 44, from Walnut Avenue in Red Bank, NJ, standing outside his vehicle covered in blood. The officers also located a bottle of Sambvca inside the vehicle.

The officers conducted an investigation which resulted in Robison being arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Open alcohol in a motor vehicle and Reckless driving. He was processed and released pending a court date.

On June 5, 2011 at approximately 3:25 am Patrolman Raymond Sofield responded to the area of Oakland Avenue in reference to an unresponsive male subject inside a vehicle. Upon arrival Officer Sofield approached the subject, identified as Nigel Combs, age 22, from Oakland Avenue and detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath.

Patrolman Sofield conducted an investigation which resulted in Combs being arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Reckless Driving. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.

On June 5, 2011 at approximately 12:05 am Patrolman Raymond Sofield responded to the Quick check store on Cherry Tree Farm Road in reference to a report of a shoplifting. Upon arrival the officer spoke with a store employee who reported that a subject entered the store and stole a lighter display. The employee was able to provide a plate number of the suspect’s vehicle.

Officer Sofield conducted an investigation which resulted in the arrest of Kiernan Kelly, age 22, from Sandpring Drive in Eatontown, NJ, being arrested for Shoplifting and the recovery of the stolen lighters. Kelly was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.

On June 6, 2011 at approximately 12:30 am Patrolman Raymond Sofield responded to a residence on Brainard Avenue in Port Monmouth in reference to a report of an argument between two people. Upon arrival the officer conducted an investigation and determined that one of the involved subjects, identified as David Kelly, age 33, from Brainard Avenue in Port Monmouth had given him a false name. The second subject also gave false information to the officer in reference to Kelly’s true identity.

Officer Sofield located a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Tinton Falls Municipal Court for Kelly’s arrest. Kelly was taken into custody and was transported to police headquarters where he charged with the additional offenses of Hindering apprehension and Obstructing the administration of law. Patrolman Sofield also arrested Angel Valone, age 33, from Brainard Avenue who was charged with Hindering Kelly’s apprehension and Obstructing the administration of law. Both subjects were processed and released pending a court date.

The Middletown Police arrested the following subjects on warrants:

Kevin Pettigrew, age 36, from Main Street in Belford, arrested on May 31, 2011 by Patrolman Raymond Sofield on a Non-Support warrant issued by the Monmouth County Superior Court. He was held on bail.

Austin Norris, age 24, from Pineview Avenue in Keansburg, NJ, arrested on June 1, 2011 by Patrolman Jason Caruso on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. He was held on $1,000.00 bail.

Kaled Refaat, age 22, from West 37th Street in Bayonne, NJ, arrested on June 1, 2011 by Patrolman Keith Hirschbein on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Jersey City Municipal Court. He was released after posting $200.00 bail.

Heather Cassaro, age 31, from Morningside Place in Port Monmouth, NJ, arrested on June 2, 2011 by Patrolman Brady Carr on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal court. She was released after posting $500.00 bail.

Juan Vega, age 30, from Jacques Street in Perth Amboy, NJ, arrested on June 3, 2011 by Patrolman Ian May on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. He was released on bail.

Glenn Zeek, age 44, from Hance Avenue in Tinton Falls, NJ, arrested on June 5, 2011 by Patrolman Michael Reuter on two Contempt of Court warrants issued by the Eatontown Municipal Court and a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. He was released after posting $2,841.00 bail.

Christopher Gill, age 19, from Seabreeze Avenue in Middletown arrested on June 5, 2011 by Patrolman Frank Mazza on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Keansburg Municipal Court. He was held on $500.00 bail.

>Crime Scene Middletown: THREE JUVENILES ARRESTED FOR MARIJUANA POSSESSION IN PARK

On February 24, 2011 at approximately 6:45 pm Patrolman Keith Hirschbein was on patrol in the area of McMahon Park when he observed three juveniles sitting in the dugout of the hockey rink passing what appeared to be a cigar back and forth to each other.

Officer Hirschbein entered the dugout where the juveniles were sitting and immediately detected the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the area. He then observed one of the juveniles put the cigar down on the bench where they were sitting. Officer Hirschbein checked the area and retrieved the cigar which was found to contain marijuana.

All three juveniles were placed under arrest and were transported to police headquarters for processing where they were charged with Possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and were released to their parents pending a court appearance.

>Crime Scene Middletown: POLICE ARREST FOUR ON DRUG CHARGES AFTER SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE CALL

On February 20, 2011 at approximately 8:40 pm Sgt. Paul Bailey was on patrol in the area of Highway 35 and Pine Street when he observed two vehicles parked behind the Prudential Building. The building was not open for business at the time.

Sgt. Bailey pulled into the parking lot and observed people sitting and standing near the vehicles. As he approached the first vehicle, Sgt. Bailey detected the strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the area. He began speaking with two of the subjects, both fifteen year old juveniles. While doing so he located a hand rolled cigarette containing a green vegetation type substance which he recognized as marijuana and a small clear plastic baggie with marijuana residue in it on the ground near the passenger side door where the juveniles were sitting.

Sgt. Bailey then approached the second vehicle and detected the strong odor of raw marijuana coming from the area. He then located an open pill bottle with green vegetation type residue inside lying on the ground near the car.

Sgt. Bailey then began speaking with the occupants of the second vehicle about what he had observed. At this point a seventeen year old female reached under her shirt and removed a small, green plastic baggie containing marijuana and handed it to Sgt. Bailey.

Officers then received consent to search from the owner of the vehicle, identified as Timothy Soden, age 18 from Laurel Avenue in Little Silver. The officers then located a breath mint package which contained marijuana residue inside the car. Soden and the three juveniles were then placed under arrest.

All subjects were transported to police headquarters for processing. Soden was charged with Possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and Being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance and was released on a summons pending a court appearance.

The two male juveniles were each charged with Possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, Possession of drug paraphernalia and Being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance. The female juvenile was charged with Possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, Possession of drug paraphernalia and Possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. All three juveniles were released to their parents pending a court appearance.

>Crime Scene Middletown: THREE JUVENILES ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA

On January 16, 2011 at approximately 11:00 pm Patrolman Robert Mc Nair was on patrol on Bayside Parkway when he observed a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot of Ideal Beach. Upon approaching the vehicle to conduct a further investigation Officer Mc Nair recognized the odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the car.

Patrolman Mc Nair asked the driver to exit the vehicle and obtained consent to search the car. While doing so he located a glass pipe used to smoke marijuana and a metal grinder which contained marijuana. All the occupants of the vehicle were then placed under arrest.

The three juveniles were transported to police headquarters where they were charged with Possession of under 50 grams of marijuana. They were processed and released to their parents pending their court date.
