Newark Mayor Cory Booker on Meet The Press This Sunday

Newark Mayor Cory Booker will be joining David Gregory on Meet the Press this Sunday.

Booker will be joined by fellow mayor, New York City’s Michael Bloomberg to dsicuss unemployment and job prospects that continue to look bleak for many Americans. They will give their insights into how and when things will finally start to recover and how they are finding solutions to unemployment, housing foreclosures and a faltering economy. It should be interesing.

Burger Buddy

If you missed the season finale of Saturday Night Live this weekend, you missed a classic skit, Will Farrel was back to parody George W. Bush.

In the skit, George (Will) helps Dick Cheney (Darrel Hammond) prepare for his interview on Meet the Press. At one point during the interview prep, George says to Dick, “I wish I had a burger buddy” like vice president Joe Biden.

Very funny stuff!

The Easter Bunny Brings A Puppy To The White House

The wait is finally over for the Obama girls, Sasha and Malia, the Easter Bunny delivered their new puppy, a Portuguese  water dog, to the White House.

The dog was all the rage on all on the morning talk shows, Meet the Press, Face the Nation and This Week with George Stephanopoulos, all made sure to mention the puppy. The Washington Post was first with the story:
Who let the dog out? That’s the Washington mystery du jour.

The identity of the first puppy — the one that the Washington press corps has been yelping about for months, the one President Obama has seemed to delight in dropping hints about — leaked out yesterday. This despite White House efforts to delay the news until the big debut planned for Tuesday afternoon.

The little guy is a 6-month-old Portuguese water dog given to the Obama girls as a gift by that Portuguese water dog-lovin’ senator himself, Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts. The girls named it Bo — and let it be noted that you learned that here first. Malia and Sasha chose the name, because their cousins have a cat named Bo and because first lady Michelle Obama’s father was nicknamed Diddley, a source said. (Get it? Bo . . . Diddley?)

Bo’s a handsome little guy. Well suited for formal occasions at the White House, he’s got tuxedo-black fur, with a white chest, white paws and a rakish white goatee.
