>Is Chris Christie’s Star Falling From The Republican Sky?

>Sitting in as host for last night’s edition of the Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC was Chris Hayes, DC Editor for the Nation Magazine. Hayes featured two segments on last night show that dealt with NJ Governor Chris Christie (our pal).

This first segment below deals with the latest falling star in the Republican sky that is quickly becoming know around NJ and the Country as Chris Christie.

Hayes comments “… what a good guy that Chris Christie choosing the voters hifs state over the glory of the national ticket how do the new jersey voters feel about him? after hovering at about 50% approval for most of his first year as governor the latest poll has governor christie at 46%. that was before he had to deal with the spectacularly bad optics of his current political headache the post christmas blizzard that happened in his state while he was far away on vacation at disney world. in typical christie fashion he refused to apologize for leaving his state in other hands using his own kids as political cover… what a good guy that chris christie choosing the voters hifs state over the glory of the national ticket how do the new jersey voters feel about him? after hovering at about 50% approval for most of his first year as governor the latest poll has governor christie at 46%. that was before he had to deal with the spectacularly bad optics of his current political headache the post christmas blizzard that happened in his state while he was far away on vacation at disney world. in typical christie fashion he refused to apologize for leaving his state in other hands using his own kids as political cover.”

Obama’s First Year Was A Success Despite Common Wisdom Of the Rightwing

Despite the common wisdom and all the nigh-saying by the conservative right wing and the “Republicants”, President Obama’s first year in office has been a major success.

To gage that success just look at some of the legislation that was passed during his first year:

  • $787 billion stimulus package that by many accounts, including the right wing, conservative American Enterprise Group, have said that the stimulus package worked.
  • Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay act.
  • Repeal of the Embryonic Stem Cell research ban.
  • The confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor
  • The House passed climate change legislation.
  • Soon to be completed health care reform.

Teabagging New Jersey

Teabagging?, Teabagging? Do Republican anti-tax groups even know what they are referring to when they call themselves “teabaggers” ? Knowing how sexually repressed most Republicans are that make up the base of the Republican Party, I would think not.

When these modern day anti-tax groups, cheered on by Fox News, hold tea parties across the country on April 15Th to protest against State and Federal spending, refer to themselves as teabaggers how can I take that seriously?

It really makes me snicker and brings all kinds of adult humour to mind.

Here is an explanation of what these Tea Parties are all about, courtesy of Rachel Maddow.

Now, I have never been teabagged and I never will, I prefer other pleasures that life has to offer. However, I do know a number of you out there may enjoy themselves at these “teabagging parties” and I wouldn’t want you to miss out on all the fun, so below is a list of a few parties being held around New Jersey on April 15th.
