>Crime Scene Middletown: Busy Saint Pat’s Day For Middletown Police

>PREPARED BY DETECTIVE LIEUTENANT STEPHEN DOLLINGER

The Middletown Police Department reports arresting eight people for various offenses relating to Saint Patrick’s Day festivities.

On March 17, 2011 at approximately 5:46 pm police responded to a report of a fight in progress at the Middletown Train Station. Upon arrival officers found a crowd of approximately fifty people scattered throughout the parking lot. Police began dispersing the crowd when four subjects refused to obey orders to leave the area. Officers issued numerous warnings to leave which were refused by the group who continued to yell obscenities and create a disturbance.

Patrolman Ryan Riffert, Patrolman Kevin Gardiner and Patrolman James Beirne arrested Steven Hewitt, age 20 and Caitlyn Hewitt , age 22, both from Kanes Lane and two seventeen year old juveniles. The subjects were charged with Disorderly Conduct and were transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released.

At approximately 9:15 pm Patrolman Frank Mazza and Detective Lieutenant Stephen Dollinger were assigned to a “Cops in Shops” detail at the Junction Bar and Liquors located on Main Street in Belford when they arrested two subjects for alcohol related offenses.

The “Cops in Shops” program involves assigning officers to a bar in order to enforce alcohol related offenses. The officers arrested Sergio Casal, age 20, from Kentucky Avenue in Hazlet and Joseph Toner, age 21, from Main Street in Belford.

Casal was charged with being under the legal age to possess alcohol and having Toner purchase it for him. Toner was charged with purchasing alcohol for a person under the legal age (Casal). Both subjects were arrested and were transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on a summons pending a court appearance.

At approximately 10:50 pm Patrolman Stephen Keller was assigned to a DWI roadblock at the intersection of Highway 35 and Navesink River Road when a vehicle entered the checkpoint. Patrolman Keller approached the vehicle at which point he detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the car.

Officer Keller’s investigation resulted in the discovery of a small bag which contained marijuana and a pipe used to smoke it. The driver, identified as Johann Castaneda, age 27, from Shore Drive in Highlands, was arrested and charged with Possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, Possession of drug paraphernalia and Possession of CDS in a motor vehicle. He was transported to police headquarters where he was released on a summons pending a court appearance.

At approximately 12:42 am Patrolman Frank Mazza who was also assigned to the DWI roadblock arrested Timothy Fitzpatrick, age 47, from Main Street in Belford for Driving While Intoxicated after Fitzpatrick was determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol after pulling into the roadblock and being checked by Mazza.

Some St. Patrick’s Day Humor

Here’s a little St. Patrick’s Day humor to start your morning.  It’s slightly off color but sure to put a smile on your face.

 Nookie Green:

An Irish man went to confession in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

‘Father’, he confessed, ‘it has been one month since my last confession’. ‘I had sex with Nookie Green twice last month.’

The priest told the sinner, ‘You are forgiven. Go out and say three Hail Mary’s.’

Soon thereafter, another Irish man entered the confessional. ‘Father, it has been two months since my last confession. I’ve had sex with Nookie Green twice a week for the past two months.’

This time, the priest questioned, ‘Who is this Nookie Green?’  ‘A new woman in the neighborhood,’ the sinner replied.

‘Very well,’ sighed the priest. Go and say ten Hail Mary’s;  At mass the next morning, as the priest prepared to deliver the sermon,a tall, voluptuous, drop-dead gorgeous redheaded woman entered the sanctuary.

The eyes of every man in the church fell upon her as she slowly sashayed up the aisle and sat down right in front of the priest. Her dress was green and very short, and she wore matching, shiny emerald-green shoes.

The priest and the altar boy gasped as the woman in the green dress and matching green shoes sat with her legs spread slightly apart, but just enough to realize she wasn’t wearing any underwear.

The priest turned to the altar boy and whispered, ‘Is that Nookie Green?’

The bug-eyed altar boy couldn’t believe his ears but managed to calmly reply, ‘No Father, I think it’ s just a reflection from her shoes’.

How to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day Like an Irishman

Today is St. Patrick’s Day, the one day of the year when everyone has to chance to be Irish.

Most people however really don’t know what that means, it’s not about drinking green beer or eating corned beef and cabbage. It’s much more than that, so I found this clip on Youtube that explain just how to be Irish in eight easy steps.
